A stardust puzzle

Stardust and emerald eyes
Watch as the blood red sunset
Submerges beneath a waterfall
Of lapping darkness
I am stood
Drenched in shadows, the world
Becomes suddenly alien
Things you saw once
Become things you’ve never seen
Ashes the colour of the moon
Rain down from the heavens
And it tastes like dirt
Burning your skin
It feels hopeless like this
Like you might never ever see
That sun again as the cold light
Flickers off your brow
But the world is coming back
Drenched in blues and greens
Yellows and oranges
So simple, yet so beautiful
It’s just round the corner
No matter where you are
Life is coming back
Just look in the mirror
See those stardust eyes
We all have pieces of heaven
We just need to put the puzzle together
